89. the logic is simple. before bush rode a bike, he rode a segway, which is
impossible to make fall over. bush made it fall over. ergo, bush is no good on anything with two wheels.

97. I'm wondering if that is true sometimes
Seriously...if it is, it is not a laughing matter, and I am sure he would keep it a secret.

Maybe That's why he skipped the physical and went AWOL...can't shame the Bush family's name with a disability...only corruption is allowed to taint the Bush's royal crest. Though it's obvious they are all bearing different mental disorders and various substance abuse issues, they choose to not fix them. They could seek and receive professional help easily, unlike the majority of Americans, so why don't they?

Farce of a family...not even a very good one either...I was never fooled. Almost all of the Democratic "leadership" was, and is.

So why do we keep electing them?

last week someone posted a pic of bush* with "splotches" erupting on his face...

I had mentioned that we should be seeing story soon about him falling down again. (sorry, can't find the link)

it seems that when bush* is feeling pressure/stress his face breaks out - then he falls down....

Us President George W Bush plunged down hills and ploughed through the brush on his high-performance mountain bike – and wound up flat on his back.

A bit shaken, the president dusted himself off, got back on his bike and kept rolling, a small cut on his knee and dirt on his back.

Bush, a one-time jogger, tore around his 1,600-acre Texas ranch today.

He has been riding a mountain bike only since February, but he rides with abandon. He went biking as Democrats gathered in Boston for their convention to nominate Sen John Kerry as their presidential candidate.

24. How's he get scraped on the knee by falling on his back?
Something weird is going on. This account of George's bicycling sounds scripted by Karen Hughes, just like the last time. Something keeps happening to him that results in injuries, and they're trying to spin it like he's Lance Armstrong.

His peculiar injuries never match the accident as described. He chokes on a pretzel, falls unconscious off the couch, and cuts and scrapes his face. He falls head-first off a bike and scrapes up his face. He falls backward off a bike and scrapes his knee. Riiiiiiiiight.

Either he's hitting the sauce, or its the "meds," or he has some serious medical problem.

I get my heart rate up that high when I ride my bike but I'd never be so arrogant to compare myself with Lance Armstrong.

The only thing Bush has in common with Armstrong is they're both from Texas. Wait a minute Bush was born back east.

Lance does his usual race and make gw* keep up. If someone has to... drive a car behind gw* and make sure he doesn't slow down.

THEN see if he wants to be consider in the same league as Lance.

The only things I have in common with Lance is marital success and pedal cadence. I pedal 90-110 RPM when I'm out.Never less than 85 (saves the knees)

My max HR is 184, my resting pulse is 62, and I average 141 for a 2-hour endurance ride (which only covers 25 miles)And I'm a fat 47 year-old diabetic.

When I first started riding last year, I would average 160+ for an hour at 10 MPH.
Anyone who understands cardio fitness knows that the more out of shape you are, the higher your heart rate for a given power output. So Dumbya doesn't fool me. He hits 168. BFD, I bet that's on a hill I wouldn't even break 150 on.

The only fucking way Junior would ever create 600 watts on his WalMart Huffy would be to stick his shrivelled little dick in a light socket and have Condi light his ass up.

106. Be like Lance - you wish:

Ever wondered what kind of numbers the boy can generate? Lance's coach, Chris Carmichael sent us these key stats for LA:

Resting heart rate: 32-34
VO2ml/kg: 83.8
Max power at VO2: 600 watts
Max heart rate: 201
Lactate Threshold HR: 178
Time Trial HR: 188-192
Pedal rpm's during TT: 95-100
Climbing rpm's: 80-85, sometimes faster when attacking
Average HR during endurance rides (4-6 hrs): 124-128
Average watts during endurance rides: 245-280 watts
Training miles/hours, endurance rides: 5- 6 hrs / 100-130miles from the above link

Bush Pedals New Program: Mountain Biking - Scott Lindlaw - AP

Excerpt:

CRAWFORD, Texas - George Bush plunged down hills and plowed through the brush on his high-end, high-performance mountain bike - and wound up flat on his back. A bit shaken up, the president of the United States dusted himself off, got back on his bike and kept rolling, a small cut on his knee and dirt on his back the only signs he had wrecked.

With an Associated Press reporter along for the ride, Bush tore around his 1,600-acre Texas ranch on Monday.

23. Well, here's my TRANSCRIPT of Suzanne Malveaux's initial report on CNN.
Wolf Blitzer: "Suzanne, we understand the President took a little spill from his mountain bike today?"

Suzanne Malveaux: "Well, yes, he did, as a matter of fact. AP Reporter Scott Lindlaw was with him, an exclusive, he went bike-riding with him (the President), he has his own mountain bike, in fact. He was on his Crawford ranch, he went down a hill, and didn't quite make it, and took a spill. We were told he has some bruises and scrapes, particularly on one of his knees. He got up really quickly, we were told, and got right back on his bike. This is a President, a man who is of course very, very active. He had to give up running because of a bad knee, just some months ago. Wolf?"

Wolf Blitzer: "All right, well, let's hope the President is just fine, after that little accident. Thanks very much, Suzanne Malveaux, reporting from the ranch in, technically Crawford, Texas."

Thanks, TIVO!

Bush's Erratic Behavior Worries White House Aides

Bush's Erratic Behavior Worries White House Aides
By DOUG THOMPSON
Publisher, Capitol Hill Blue
Jun 4, 2004, 06:15

President George W. Bush’s increasingly erratic behavior and wide mood swings has the halls of the West Wing buzzing lately as aides privately express growing concern over their leader’s state of mind.

In meetings with top aides and administration officials, the President goes from quoting the Bible in one breath to obscene tantrums against the media, Democrats and others that he classifies as “enemies of the state.”

Worried White House aides paint a portrait of a man on the edge, increasingly wary of those who disagree with him and paranoid of a public that no longer trusts his policies in Iraq or at home.

The President's abrupt dismissal of CIA Directory George Tenet Wednesday night is, aides say, an example of how he works.

"Tenet wanted to quit last year but the President got his back up and wouldn't hear of it," says an aide. "That would have been the opportune time to make a change, not in the middle of an election campaign but when the director challenged the President during the meeting Wednesday, the President cut him off by saying 'that's it George. I cannot abide disloyalty. I want your resignation and I want it now."

46. junior is so enthralled with Lance Armstrong that he gets on
his bicycle and races all over the Crawford ranch, up and down hills recklessly. Then like everything else in his life he crashes.

He last fell off his bike last May after the media lied to us and that it had been raining in Crawford, which it hadn't.

Before his last fall, it was falling off a Segway Scooter, and before that it was a sofa.

Mountain biking, he said, has a certain “mind-clearing” effect on him as well.

I was looking for a different way to get outside and get exercise,” he said. “Swimming is outside exercise, but you don’t get the feeling of the wind rushing.....

through one ear and out the other side with that mind so completely cleared....

50. According to Fox, this is his bike: a Trek Fuel 98 ($3.099)

Advertised Retail $3,099.99

http://www.trekbikes.com/bikes/2004/mountain/fuel98.jsp

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,127076,00.html

CRAWFORD, Texas — President Bush (search) charged up punishing climbs and down steep dirt paths on his high-performance bike Monday, winding up flat on his back.

The president dusted himself off, waved his medics away and kept rolling, a small cut on his knee and dirt on his back the only signs he had wrecked. He allowed that he was a bit shaken up.

Over an 18-mile ride that lasted an hour and 20 minutes, he burns about 1,200 calories and his heart rate reaches 168 beats per minute. That's about four times his resting rate and in the same range as Lance Armstrong's (search) when the six-time Tour de France (search) winner is pedaling hard.

"At my age, you're more concerned about the cardiovascular" benefits of a workout, the 58-year-old president said. Mountain biking, he said, has a certain "mind-clearing" effect on him, as well.

53. There's something screwy here...
According to the story, he did 18 miles in 80 minutes.

That's an average speed of 13.5 miles per hour, or about 20 feet per second. On off-road trails, up and down hills?

What the hell is someone in his mid-fifties out to prove by doing this for over an hour in July in Texas? That he has a death wish?

54. he's a macho showoff ...
One reason why he wrecked his knees in the first place. He insisted on going flat-out without proper warmups -- and reading the descriptions of his White House "Fun Run", it sounded like he practically killed himself trying to outrun Secret Service agents 25 years younger. He's such a poor loser (I blame his mother's cute habit of making her kids compete against each other for her affection).

So I'm not surprised that he's a disaster-on-wheels. What's worse is, he forces his staff to compete against him -- that "Hundred Degrees Club" where he makes them run in hot weather. One of these days, a whole bunch of them will be admitted to hospital for heatstroke. (This could be serious -- even healthy young people can die of this!)

Also, various DUers have speculated that he is trying to self-medicate a possible medical condition (attention deficit disorder?) with vigorous exercise. He gets very fidgety when he isn't able to exercise (the weight gain is only part of the story here). A friend of mine who has the condition claims that he was able to control it with biking/running, but it was really hard on his body and consumed a lot of his time (as it seems to do with Bush). Eventually he had to find other options because he got a serious injury. (He's on Strattera now and says it's miles better than half-killing himself on the mountain every day!)

Used to live next door to a kid diagnosed as having Attention Deficit
Disorder. He was OK most of the time (if a bit on the hyper side) but
my main memory of him is seeing him whizzing around the back garden on
his bike - round and round, faster and faster.

This is the image that comes into my mind when I read about Bush on his
bike out in Crawford - a 50-year old ADD kid.

81. He started riding in February, on a knobby-tired bike...
And he rides at an average of 13.5 MPH on trails and what have you? and I've been riding for over a year, put 110# in my tyres, pick flat roads, and my BEST TT is 13.8 miles in an hour? How often does he get out for a ride? once a week? twice a month? I mean when he's not down in Crwford knockin' back Lone Stars and Condi.

He should resign the White House, get his NORBA Cat V Master's license, and start kicking ass on the off-road cicuit.

I don't believe it.
