(S. Korea) Roh Accepts Defense Minister's Resignation

South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun has accepted the resignation of his defense minister in connection with a leak of sensitive information about a recent naval clash with North Korea.

A presidential spokesman said Mr. Roh accepted Cho Young-kil's resignation Wednesday, and replaced him with senior presidential aide Yoon Kwang-ung.

On July 14, South Korean navy ships fired warning shots to drive away a North Korean patrol boat from southern waters in the Yellow Sea.
