President Bush returns to Ohio
July 29, 2004

President Bush returns to Ohio

Just about everybody in the small Cleveland suburb of Kirtland Hills is talking about a planned visit by President Bush Friday night.

Kirtland Hills resident Edward Crawford will host Bush for a Republican fund-raiser at his 71-acre estate. The event, reported to be a two-thousand-dollar-per-plate reception at which the president will speak, is closed to the media and public.

Resident Glen Schwaller says people are excited about Bush's visit. He says it's a compliment when the president visits your community.

The 66-year-old Crawford in a millionaire industrialist who is active in the Cuyahoga County Republican Party.

3. Seriously, is there some kind of "fix" planned for Ohio?
They seem to be focusing a LOT of attention on the state. I hope there aren't enough dumb Ohioans to give the state to * considering how many jobs that state has lost.

6. BBV: the president of DIEBOLD "promised" Ohio to Bush.
Seen it a dozen times, wish I had a cite and site, but search here is not working. Bev Harris quoted him as I remember.

13. here's one article, but keep in mind, all touch-screen paperless voting is
now canceled for this fall's election in Ohio. so diebold will be doing nothing in Ohio but sitting on its thumbs.
here's an article about diebold's president:

here's an article about Ohio not using paperless voting this year:

18. Franklin County right in the middle of Ohio
has been using touch screen voting for several years and I think they will continue to do so. This is an area to watch very carefully because I believe it is an area ripe for election mischief making. I have worked at the polls in this county for several years and I have never trusted the new machines although the old mechanical machines with the levers used to jam all the time and cause problems as well. I think the real problem here will be challenges to voters as to their voting address and their citizenship. There was a Republican "challenger" at the precinct where I work during the March primary and he seemed to be gathering information about how we run the polls. He was particularly interested in the Ohio laws regarding challenges to voters and he came with copies of the relevant Ohio Code. This could get very ugly.

16. Note its closed to media and the public
Bush cant even go out in public like Kerry........most of his
campaigning will be done in private places like this one.
Im not complaining....as a lifelong Ohioan if bush has to come
here I'd just well be pleased with him not making a big public
display! Who needs Bush in Ohio anyway.
