President campaigns in Missouri, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania

Offering broad outlines of his re-election agenda, President Bush is promising better times and fresh ideas as he focuses on helping Americans adjust to the changing economy.

Opening a new phase of his campaign, the president will try to energize supporters in heavily Republican parts of Missouri and Michigan on Friday, a day after the Democratic Party's convention ended with the nomination of rival John Kerry.

Bush did not stay up to watch Kerry's convention address but read and saw reports about it, spokesman Scott McClellan said.

Adviser Karl Rove watched the speech, McClellan told reporters. "I think the senator of Massachusetts is a walking contradiction," McClellan said.

Although he called the speech "nicely crafted," he criticized Kerry's Senate record and said Kerry is "running as fast and as far as he can from that record."

Bush Sees Moore Film by Mistake

LEWISBURG, PA (IWR News Parody) - According to Scott McClelland, President Bush mistakenly thought he was going to see the classic sci-fi thriller Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, but he instead went to a matinee showing of Michael Moore's documentary. McClelland said that the President, who doesn't read newspapers, was unaware of Moore's satirical movie.
Later on Sunday, Mr. Bush made these comments to reporters.

"You know, I first saw the original Fahrenheit 22 movie when I was AWOL, I mean, on duty in Alabama.

Damn, I was hoping to see fun stuff like books being burned and junk like that, but the only thing being toasted in this film was my ass.

3. "....a walking contradiction," McClellan
let me guess, we have two reports released saying the economic is slowing and deficits are rising, but the Chimp is going to tell the voters that the economic is great and gov't spending is under control???

I can see why McClellan believes what he said; up is down in Bushworld
