BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Filmmaker Michael Moore's Bush-basing documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11" apparently has upset more than Republicans.

The (Bloomington) Pantagraph newspaper in central Illinois has sent a letter to Moore and his production company, Lions Gate Entertainment Corp., asking Moore to apologize for using what the newspaper says was a doctored front page in the film, the paper reported Friday. It also is seeking compensatory damages of $1.

6. Dec 19 should be Dec 5 on the page - and this is a problem?
The mag explains how many hands the info went through before Moore got it - and some of those hands seem reliable -

but in the end they are correct - Moore should have checked the original source.

Perhaps Moore could promise to correct on DVD!

:-)

2. Did Moore's legion of fact checkers miss this one or is
"The (Bloomington) Pantagraph newspaper in central Illinois" ..wrong?

The date is wrong, the type may be larger, but I'd hardly call it a "Front Page Headline".

5. Looks like a change made to make it more easier to read on the screen
That's probably why they're asking so little. If they thought they had a real case then they'd ask for more. This is just a "Get Moore to admit he did wrong" point.

7. Actually
The paper is claiming that the "headline" was from one of their "letters to the editor", and was enlarged and moved to appear as a headline to a news story.

14. Actually, the AP story...
keeps insisting the film converted the LTTE to a "front page headline". The truth lies somewhere in between. In other words, the AP is engaging in the very behavior it accuses Moore of.

8. Another trivia based attack on Micheal Moore
This type of attack is so pathetic, you wonder why they bother. It just points up the lack of anything substantive to use against the film.

a minuscule thing like that Michael Moore must really be doing some major damage.

12. THIS IS THE BEST THEY CAN DO? This is BIGGEST PROBLEM they can find?
The bush bots are still on tv talking about how this is a fictional film.

If it is lies about BUSH, then he should sue.

But he isn't

So instead we get this bs lawsuit over a date?

13. There is another
way to look at this. They are only suing for $1.00 and making a parody of the situation and the repuke attack machine. This is good for Pantagraph newspaper and keeps F9/11 in the news.
