N.H. Democrats Call On Nader To Reject GOP- Generated Petitions
The Chaplain Channel

Supporters of Ralph Nader said Tuesday they have enough signatures to get him on the ballot in New Hampshire, but state Democrats said the effort was aided unethically by Republicans.

Emily Sawka, of Kittery, Maine, said she was sent to the event by a Portsmouth, N.H., temp agency to help with the signature-gathering. She said she didn't know until she got there what she would be doing, and she refused to participate when she found out. "This campaigning for Bush under the guise of Ralph Nader is completely unethical by any standards," ..

State Democratic Party Chairwoman Kathy Sullivan said the Republicans are trying to do everything they can to keep Bush in office. "You can't trust the GOP to act legally or in an ethical manner anymore," she said.

1. A temp agency?
How is this legal???

I don't get it.

Salaries to these people, isn't that a campaign donation? Wouldn't that surpass $2000 lickety split?

I can't believe this doesn't violate campaign finance laws.

2. If Nader gets on the ballot in NH
it's going to seriously hurt our chances in that state.

The script given to workers was titled "Talking Tips." To instruct them on how to be more persuasive with Bush supporters, one tip was to say: "In 2000, Nader got almost 30,000 votes - without his presence Al Gore would be president today."

4. The problem goes beyond Nader
It is people that are dumb enough to vote for Nader instead of Kerry in this crucial election.

I have to believe that people will be smart enough not to do this, not in significant numbers anyway.

5. Not going to happen. Nader has no principles. He is all ego.

He'd go to the devil itself for signatures to get on a state ballot.
In this respect he's no better than the Repugs. The ENDS justify the MEANS.

7. It just shows how desparate Bushies have become here
Kerry will take NH, no matter who's on the ballot. Nader effect will be nil compared to 2000.
