When Is Enough Enough? (New Newsweek Poll re: Iraq) |
|
http://www.msnbc.com/news/956458.asp?0cv=KA01Excerpt: When is Enough Enough? In a new Newsweek poll, Americans say they’re spending too much in Iraq with too little to show for it. And with the 2004 approaching, Bush is losing ground By Jennifer Barrett NEWSWEEK WEB EXCLUSIVE Aug. 23 — Americans are increasingly pessimistic about the U.S. mission in Iraq, saying the United States should reduce its spending and scale back its efforts there, according to the latest NEWSWEEK poll.
SIXTY-NINE PERCENT of Americans polled say they are very concerned (40 percent) or somewhat concerned (29 percent) that the United States will be bogged down for many years in Iraq without making much progress in achieving its goals. Just 18 percent say they’re confident that a stable, democratic form of government can take shape in Iraq over the long term; 37 percent are somewhat confident. Just 13 percent say U.S. efforts to establish security and rebuild Iraq have gone very well since May 1, when combat officially ended; 39 percent say somewhat well.

Most of these people are as clueless as the bush regime regarding our "goals" in Iraq, Afghanistan or the rest of the middle east for that matter. :-(

8. The MSNBC Poll Numbers Startling! |
|
The Newsweek numbers are heartening, but the current MSNBC poll asking the same questions are startling. They show support for Bush and his policies has damned near evaporated: Check this out. Here are the numbers as of about 10:30 PM CDT, August 23, 2003. The numbers on the right are the Newsweek poll, on the left the MSNBC online poll which included some 5113 responses at the time I voted.
The percentages in blue represent the results of the national poll, not including your response.
The poll was taken August 22-23, 2003 and had a +/- 3 percent margin of error.

2. Its still more than half |
|
52% believe either postwar Iraq has been doing very well or somewhat well. In other words, most Americans still have their heads so far up their asses they don't know which way is up....or out for that matter.
Just how in the hell can 39% say its gone very well? If I were asking the questions, I'd have to ask those that said that if they even had the slightest notion of what's actually going on over there.
If it weren't for the fact that this administration affects me too, I'd say these people deserve the government that is taking shape right now. I have little else other than contempt for these people.

don't have televisions, radios, or newspapers, and they must not have any family or friends in the military there.

a wild animal is most dangerous when cornered. Who knows what the illegitimate chimp will do when confronted with failure one more time in his life.
At the least, a few pretzels ought to appear soon..
