JOHN DELIVERS IN DO-OR-DIE SITUATION (Yahoo/NY Post)
It may have been the worst debate that President Bush (news - web sites) has ever had while Democrat John Kerry (news - web sites) scored one of his best.

In debates, Bush has a history of being crisp and focused and able to stay right on message, but last night he came across as hesitant and defensive, unable to get his points across clearly.

1. what b.s.
I'm sorry, but that was an extremely back handedly complimentary article. Kerry has been "all over the place" on Iraq? How? He explained himself pretty damn well tonight, I think. Bush was tired from "comforting hurricane victims?" Well boo hoo. Wonder just how much comfort he would have been offering had those victims lived in New York or California!?

8. Hey, its the NY Post.... the fact that they cough up this much is amazing.
If big media notice big hits on their (in this case, somewhat) pro JK pieces, they may tend to publish more of them, more often.

2. I'd Give It About Four Days
Before the kneepad media starts regurgitating RNC talking points and changing the narrative.

12. "I'd Give It About Four Days"
They are already at work, getting the talking heads for the bush coward on more than those for Kerry. The corporate controlled media will never give the democrat a fair showing.

3. Truth be told, it was never really "do or die"
The so-called liberal media has been denigrating Kerry for MONTHS, and replaying every anti-Kerry ad they could get their hands on...as NEWS...for FREE...so is it really any wonder that he was in a bit of a bind.???

Had the coverage been fair, he would have been waaaaay ahead of doofus, but they could not have that..

The media always has to have a ying-yang style of coverage on just about everything these days.. It's as if everything is equivocal, so they could never have an election that was not exciting..

People do not get interested in races that are runaways..

They will manage to spin it back to "advantage, Bush"...just you wait and see..

The swiftboat liars will start in again with a new round of "newsworthy" ads, and people will still be parsing every word Kerry says..

4. Headline should read, "Asshole* doesn't deliver in do-or-die situation"
Was Kerry supposed to be the underdog or something?

* has always been a stumbering piece of human trash.

5. It would have hurt Deborah Orin to write that
She is one of the shamless chimp lovers in the NY post.

6. crisp and focused?
Edited on Fri Oct-01-04 02:46 AM by cyr330
He never answered one fucking question he was asked in 2000, and he completely got away with it with blessings from the media whores. Sure he lost this debate, but he also lost the one in 2000---resoundingly.

7. Exactly the same focus Kerry showed saving lives in combat
And it makes it easy to believe the stories that * was having panic attacks as a pilot--* lacked the courage to handle the rapid decisions. But he was good at reading children's books.

9. It's the Post, people
Personally I'm floored that they even called it for Kerry. This rag makes the Moonie Times look like the Village Voice.

10. The Post actually goofed......
The folks who get their news from the headlines and read whole articles, some will see the headline "JOHN DELIVERS IN DO-OR-DIE SITUATION" and interpret it as talking about the debate. Others will interpret it as talking about life or death situations in war/terrorism.

After all when a lot of folks think Kerry, Vietnam comes to mind which was another "DO-OR-DIE SITUATION"

11. Funny thing about the Post
People who read the Post do it Japanese style: starting with the back cover and working their way back. I see this on the train a lot and it's pretty funny. :P

I have a sneaking suspicion half the paper's going to be about the Yankees win over the Twins anyway.
