At least 90 people killed, 180 wounded as US, insurgents battle in Samarra
SAMARRA, Iraq (AFP) - At least 90 people were killed and 180 wounded as US troops and Iraqi forces charged into Samarra in a first effort to reclaim troublespots before Iraq (news - web sites)'s planned elections, while a shocked nation buried 34 children killed by car bombs.

..a month of wholesale slaughter of both 'insurgents' and as a consequence innocents in a last ditch attempt to calm the ever worsening storm in Iraq before the election.

Expect more of the same for the duration of October everyone.

And we are the looniest of the whole bunch! Someone, somewhere has got to step in and stop this shit. Our insane, slobbering president has got to be stopped or we will never recover from this. After we have been soundly defeated and had our asses kicked the hell out of Iraq, Iraq will recover - just like Vietnam did. But we won't. This demented murdering of innocent people will destroy this country, if hasn't already. We are the dead...
