U.S. Cybersecurity Chief Abruptly Resigns
By TED BRIDIS, AP Technology Writer

WASHINGTON - The government's cybersecurity chief has abruptly resigned after one year with the Department of Homeland Security, confiding to industry colleagues his frustration over what he considers a lack of attention paid to computer security issues within the agency.

Amit Yoran, a former software executive from Symantec Corp., informed the White House about his plans to quit as director of the National Cyber Security Division and made his resignation effective at the end of Thursday, effectively giving a single's day notice of his intentions to leave.

12. I would like to know why he gave only one day's notice
Something going on there that we're not being informed about, I'll bet.

5. There really is something you can do if you get too frustrated
Being a quitter does not cut it when your at the apex. Just find one of these things and pull.

It will get better, later, after your head stops spinning

6. Hmmm,...a one-day notice indicates a bit more than mere frustration,...
,...methinks. Those neocons just do NOT play well with others,...do they.

9. The Kerry campaign could tie this in nicely with Kerry's debate
topics last night. Kerry's theme of how we're spending too little money and effort here at home ties in perfectly with these sorts of resignations. These people keep resigning because they have a mandate, but are given no resources or support to do their job.

13. Sometimes I wonder what the mandate is....
I still want to know why Tenet resigned. And remember the guy who headed the faith-based initiatives? He quit abruptly too, saying that the White House was being too ideological.

I think that some members of bushco get squeamish about what they are being asked to do. Which raises a good questionn - just what are they being asked to do? Just how unethical is it?

10. You better not to try to stand in my way, As I'm a walkin' out the door...
Sure do miss Johnny Paycheck:

Well, that foreman, he's a regular dog,
The line boss is a fool.
Got a brand new flat-top haircut;
Lord, he thinks he's cool.
One of these days, I'm gonna blow my top,
And sucker, he's gonna pay
Lord, I can't wait to see their faces,
When I get the nerve to say:

Take this job and shove it,
I ain't workin' here no more.
My woman done left,
An' took all the reasons I was workin' for.
You better not to try to stand in my way,
As I'm a walkin' out the door.
Take this job and shove it,
I ain't workin' here no more.

:nopity:
