COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Political tensions reportedly reached the boiling point early Friday near the Ohio State campus.

Several members of the political action group "Punk Voter," said they were jumped outside the Newport Music Hall, located at 13th Avenue and Pearl Alley, NBC 4 reported.

One member of the group was reportedly knocked unconscious and was transported to The Ohio State University Medical Center.

"Punk Voter" is a political group from Florida that is traveling to key battleground states to spread its anti-Bush message, NBC 4 reported.

1. Typical reactionary behavior.
However, these same Bushy-boy bullies will not deign to show their ultimate patriotism by enlisting in the Army, Air Force, Navy or Marines and volunteering for duty in Iraq.

2. ... as political violence comes to America
Not a good development.

"Crystal Night" just doesn't sound very American.

7. They call themselves punk and they get beat up. I was saying
if you call yourself punk and let someone beat you up it should be the other way around, typically.

I like what punk has morphed into....anti-corporatism, not selling-out and yeah, politcal awareness. and I don't mind funny haircuts, black clothing, hijinx, hedonism, raw music and beer. I like vegan-punks(spotted in Seattle and LB,CA) and straight edge punks not to be confused with the detestable Oi's and nazi-punks. Punks r cool.

15. Thank you for your good work.
I belong to the 50's/60's generation and am too old for punk. I do appreciate all the work you have done on this election. Carry on!

11. Reminds me of the freedom riders in the South in the sixties.
Three of them were murdered and many more were beaten because they wanted to register people to vote.

12. I was at that concert...Punk Voters had registered 250 new voters...
It was a Rock Against Bush concert with Anti-Flag, Tom Morello, et al., at a venue on the Ohio State University campus.

Things were quiet when we left. But I had actually talked to one of the volunteers, and he said that they had registered over 250 new voters...mostly 18 year olds or out-of-town OSU students registering to vote in Ohio...a legal practice encouraged by both parties. It was a sure bet all 250 were Kerry voters.

Were the thugs trying to rip off the voter registration forms?

I'm gonna lock on to this story and follow up.
