Democratic Camp See Winds of Change Boosting Kerry
TAMPA, Fla. (Reuters) - Democrat John Kerry (news - web sites)'s campaign was declared a no-gloat zone on Friday after the White House challenger's debate against President Bush (news - web sites) but aides said winds of change had begun to blow through the race.

The Massachusetts senator declined to claim victory himself even though supporters in Tampa greeted him with chants of "You won!" and quick polls by television networks right after the debate showed more Americans gave him the edge.

"Oh, no, no, no," Kerry said. "Let me make it clear to everybody. We have to win every day from now until Nov. 2."

His staff and advisers used superlatives like powerful, concise, steady and strong to describe his showing in the nationally televised showdown with Bush on Iraq (news - web sites) and homeland security.

4. I don't see him as arrogant and cocky
Just plain brilliant! I've known it for YEARS and now what a masterful presentation of the facts compared to uh, ah, uh, it's hard work, and mexed missages Bush.

I think he'll a powerful President...one that we can be proud of and proud to say we're from America.

3. The truth is Kerry didn't change....and either did Bush
But the "media" and spin machinists can't
get away anymore spinning Kerry as less than
and Bush as more than.

Even in a setting as sanitized and controlled
as it was. That's what's kind of amazing. Bush
managed to screw up his posture, facial expressions
and answers in such a non-combative and controlled
setting, arranged by his handlers and the parties.

Wonder if the town-hall "meeting" will be
as controlled?

5. I want the next debate to hurry up and come! I can't wait!
Whoda thunk, politics could be so exciting?

However, I told my husband last night, that it wouldn't surprise me if Bush backs out of the other 2 debates.

8. That is what I think, too
Each one was himself and I truly believe as * voters think about this 'quality' of folksiness that they like in him as a person does not bode well as a quality to be a president.
That may be the death knell to his (re)election.

10. Let's not ruin that now.
We must have high expectations for Bush. He will recover and be dangerous. Don't oversestimate Kerry and underestimate Bush. They are waiting for us to do this!
