Locals Say Kerry Held his Own (Wincheter Star, VA)
Edited on Sat Oct-02-04 09:01 AM by henslee
Flo Jenkins definitely leaned left before Thursday night. But she needed a final assurance.

So watching the presidential debate, Jenkins hoped for a confident John Kerry to stand unwaveringly and outline a position on the war on terrorism.

Then, the 47-year-old mother of four could feel safe in her choice. Jenkins went to bed Thursday night at ease.

Kerry will have her vote. “I think Mr. Kerry pulled himself up,” Jenkins said. “If there were people out there who had not made up their mind, I think they have now.

“I had wondered how Mr. Kerry would handle himself with the Iraq war. He had not, until , been very firm in countering attacks. I was impressed that he finally put those issues to rest.”

1. Held his own? Kerry stomped the moron. Isn't that paper located in
a right wing fundamentalist Christian Coalition republican area?

2. Okay.. this is my favorite, clueless follower quote:
<<After working a night shift late Thursday, Yaider, a decided Republican, downloaded the debate on the Internet.

“What I liked about it was President Bush had answers just like that,” Yaider, 35, said. “He’s on the ball.” >>

Was that person watching the same debate? Or are they just so brainwashed they didn't see the deer-in-headlights looks, the repeating of the same 3 sentences, and general lack of awareness of his surroundings? Wow... doesn't take much to impress those folks.

5. It's genetic. They can't help themselves.
Many Cspan callers sounded very similar. Oh George is our hero... He could have come out in that codpiece again, and they'd have loved it. I swear it's genetic attraction. If they could only see the difference in levels of integrity and intelligence. They surely cannot see, or they'd wish him into the cornfield like we do. It was a pathetic display of foolishness. Of course, he'll be getting fulltime counselling in the meantime. I wonder who the real president is. It isn't this exchearleader turned politician. In fact, I think that's part of it. Republicans love a chearleader.
This guy needs more than honing.
