Dean aiming to remake Democratic Party with Dean Dozens
RUTLAND, Vt. Former Vermont Governor Howard Dean continues to travel the country encouraging Democrats -- especially political rookies -- in their bids for office.

Dean -- who dropped out of the Democratic presidential primary race earlier this year -- has named 101 people so far to what he calls his Dean Dozens.

Those are groups of candidates he is endorsing and asking his urging his backers to support.

Dean says he wants to see Democrats be competitive in every election campaign in the country.

14. Technically, they are chosen by the DNC, but
the DNC will rubber-stamp the choice of a Democratic President. If Kerry wins next month, he will get to choose the next Chairman (or to keep McAuliffe).

2 rohrabacher (my district - CA 46th CD) is a 'Dean Dozen' candidate. And He has a good shot @ getting rid of dana.

I know Howard has been working 4 the candidate challenging delay. Does anyone know how that race is going?

6. I've read that Morrison is within 5 points of Delay , and GAINING
I don't have a link, though. It was a comment made by someone with good connections to the campaign on another website that is against DU rules to mention.

10. You really have to wonder...
...what kind of ignoramus thinks Rohrbacher is worthy to sit in the House of Representatives. I saw him on Bill Maher, and he's about the biggest (and loudest) idiot I have ever seen.

12. Block-Walked for Morrison TODAY!
Yes, Richard Morrison is a "Dean Dozen" candidate. The campaign is old-fashioned, grass-roots SWEAT. And may I emphasize the sweat -- it's still quite hot down here where we're knocking on doors! We meet a lot of friendly people who are glad to vote "against Tom DeLay." We meet a lot of people who hadn't given it much thought, but they get a flyer and see a friendly face. Sometimes we even meet R's who are willing to split the ticket...

Richard will need every vote he can get. I hadn't heard about the poll showing only 5% gap, but there are Morrison signs springing up like so many blue flowers all over the district, and the energy at the campaign is wonderful. So y'all come on down and volunteer for a couple of days! Need more sweaty bodies! :D

Richard also has a great TV spot (you can find it on the website) he's going to air on cable, so $$$ helps too.

3. Dean's goal is to counter the "Christian Coalition"
He's created the largest PAC ever. I honestly think he'll change politics drastically for the better in years to come. :hi:

9. Howard Dean is one awesome human being! I love that guy!
This is exactly what needs to happen in this country, and I wish more Dem winners would get on board with him, and really start kicking some ass nationwide.

This country is in terrible trouble, and we need to turn a whole lot of things around 180-degrees.

O8) Bless Howard Dean's efforts with protection, and a huge and successful following! O8)

13. Amen for Governor Dean!
One of the challenges he throws out there in his speeches to Democrats is this:

- Just Voting will get you a grade of "D".
- If you want to get an A, run for office.
- If for some reason you can't run for office, then commit right now to spend at least 3 hours a week helping with a campaign, or with a local Democratic group.

He told us that after the elections, he'll give us one month off. Then we come back and start preparing for 2006 (including TX governor's race) and 2008...

DUers, taking the challenge?
