South Korea went on high terror alert during the weekend after an al-Qaida leader purportedly called for attacks on the United States and its allies.

The entire South Korean army, including 2,800 troops sent to Iraq, was ordered Sunday to heighten anti-terrorism readiness, the Korea Times reported.
