Canadians prefer Kerry to Bush (56-19): poll
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20041003.wpoll1003/BNStory/National/

Canadian Press

... A Leger Marketing poll conducted Sept. 21-26 indicates 56 per cent of Canadians supported the Democratic candidate, compared with 19 per cent who backed U.S. President George W. Bush.

... The poll, which is considered accurate within 2.5 percentage points 19 times out of 20, also suggested 54 per cent of Canadians believed Mr. Bush's re-election on Nov. 2 would have a negative impact on peace and security in the world.

... “In very few countries would you find even a close race,” Mr. Martin, director of the University of Montreal's Chair in American Political and Economic Studies, said in an interview.

“Maybe one or two countries have an actual close majority for Bush but you have to look hard. You wouldn't get much Republican support these days for Canada as a 51st state. That's for sure.”

1. News, but no news
It appears the whole world (except for the US individuals who vote for *) is supporting Kerry.

And I would doubt they will support the US if * is re-elected. Especially if another terra event happens on *'s watch. We will be alone on the planet, except for the poodle Blair.

12. No, the poodle Blare is quitting.
He's bought a 6 million dollar town-house, so that means he plans to be moving out of #10 Downing street.

2. To my Canadian friends and neighbours,
As an American, I wish to offer my sincere apology to you and the rest of the civilized and non-civilized world that our system failed, and that we have this Bush idiot in control of our nation. It should never have happened, and never would have if we had a free press such as yours. I hope you will forgive us someday. Due to global warming, water shortages, hurricanes, volcanoes, and earthquakes, we surely will need you (and your oil and natural gas resources) soon.

But, tell me, WHO THE HELL ARE THE 19 PER CENT of Canadians who back George W. Bush?! Are they all in Alberta?

Can they be contained?

We Americans are all about containment, ya know. :)

7. Thanks, friend
Shrub ain't no conservative in the true sense, but he gets away with pretending to be one. These Bush people are extremists.

I've been to Alberta several times and enjoyed being there very much, so take what I've said with a grain of salt.

As to Nov. 2, it's going to take a lot of hard work (where have I heard that before?) but we will take him out.

10. I wish my fellow, bush voting, Americans
had your insight. I guess from the outside looking in it is easier to see the fascism. The many Germans weren't able to see it when it took over their country either.

Bush is coming to my town on Thursday, and the Bushbots have been stealing yard signs in record numbers. They even had the nerve to cut down the huge banner that hung on the local Dem headquarters. They must be really afraid if they go to those great lengths.

8. We're not all bad...
...In Alberta, I promise! The premier of Alberta, King Ralph, supports Bush but he's the only one I know. Maybe all the Bushites are in Calgary ... let's blame them. :)

3. I wonder if the Canadians could lend their neighbor to the south some
common sense.

less they experience an influx of inlaws rushing across the border in December to stay a while.

9. Important -- Only 19% claim support bush in a rw rag ...
Edited on Mon Oct-04-04 04:34 AM by Iceburg
more of the article--

The remaining 25% refused to answer or said they didn't know.

Kerry's strongest support in Canada came from Quebec, where 69% of respondents said they preferred the challenger, compared with only 11% who favoured Bush.

Other regional breakdowns, with Kerry's numbers first and Bush's second, were: British Columbia, 58-19; Ontario, 53-19; the Atlantic provinces, 49-28; Alberta, 45-27; and Manitoba and Saskatchewan, 43-30.

----------------------------------------------------
The support for * (if you can call <30% "support" ... ) lies in the mid-western provinces (sparsley populated) provinces.

Keep in mind this article is posted in the most rw media outlets ... bush's real support in Canada is running well below 15%
