Fox News apologises for Kerry fabrication
(snip)

"Carl Cameron made a stupid mistake and he has been reprimanded for his lapse in judgment. It was a poor attempt at humour and he regrets it," a Fox spokesman Paul Schur told the Los Angeles Times, though he would not give details of what action would be taken against Mr Cameron.

The "metrosexual" story taps into a persistent theme underlying the election race, in which the Republican party and its supporters in the media have sought to make a campaign issue of the candidates' perceived masculinity.

At the party's convention in New York last month, California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger called Mr Kerry's advisors "economic girlie-men".

A metrosexual, the fake Fox article helpfully concluded, "is defined as an urbane male with a strong aesthetic sense who spends a great deal of time and money on his appearance and lifestyle".

1. Everyone knows that CARL CAMERON is the epitome of American machismo
I thought that he was the re-incarnanated John Wayne for a long time until I determined he was even more manly

Manicured finger nails, etc. Next time you listen to Hannity and O'Reilly, no don't listen to them a next time. I hope they are sued for their lies and smears campaign.

5. Should Fox be permitted into Kerry's White House press conferences?
I suppose the case can be made that there is room for the partisan press. But surely Fox doesn't deserve to be treated like any other major news-gathering organization.

If Kerry wins its "reporters" should be invited as often as are those of, say, The National Review or The Weekly Standards. And given just as many opportunities to ask "questions."

7. I think a Kerry White House
should appoint Helen Thomas as press secretary and let HER choose which reporters are honest and hard-working, and she should allow only THEM into her press room. Payback's a bitch, and Helen Thomas would be certainly experienced enough to know who should be allowed on the WH beat and which assholes patronized her when she was part of the press corps herself.

"honorary" post for Helen because of her age. Something like Press Secretary Emeritus or something of that nature to honor her years of service and her journalistic integrity.

23. No, Helen's best. She's never caved to political pressure.

Dan was ready to goosestep after 9/11. It scared the shit out of me to hear him say he'd do whatever Bush* told him to do. I never heard of Helen Thomas saying we have to give up some freedom for safety, etc.

when it posted hit articles against a candidate for president that was simply the humor of their supposed "WH correspondent". Faux/ Bush has lost all credibility as anything other than a right wing smear machine.

Carl Cameron should be fired, I mean this is the guy who constantly covers Kerry for Fox, for God's sake, and he does such immature crap as THIS?!

and we should not rest until he's lost his job.

Preepers would have achieved that, if the tables were turned, that very day... this is the D Underground - we MUST fight back!
I'm VERY tired of being a low-life neo-con's doormat!

to hate Arnold.

'At the party's convention in New York last month, California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger called Mr Kerry's advisors "economic girlie-men".'

I hope someday californians will wake up and impeach Arnold out of Governor's seat. But I doubt that will ever happen.. Ignorance is not bliss, it is dangerous.
