(AM New York/Newsday) Is FOX News Faux Real?
Edited on Mon Oct-04-04 11:27 AM by johnfunk
AM New York becomes the first daily newspaper to pick up the FOX faux story scandal:
FOXNews forced to admit to running false stories
by Chuck Bennett
amNewYork Staff Writer

Fox News bared its right-wing bias in two blunders this weekend, adding to the argument that the media outlet is a Republican attack dog against Democratic candidates.

On Friday, the cable news channel's chief campaign correspondent Carl Cameron wrote a bogus news article that was posted on Fox's Web site that quoted Sen. John Kerry bragging that he was a "metrosexual."

...

Since CBS anchor Dan Rather was duped last month by false documents {sic} purporting to be about President Bush's National Guard service, Fox commentators have been leading the charge for his ouster. Cameron's job, however, appears to be safe.

...

In another online gaffe for the network, political reporter Jane Roh filed a report about a parody group called "Communists for Kerry." It ran as a news story and failed to mention that the group was actually pro-Bush.

Sadly, AMNewYork does not post their articles in HTML -- I had to transcribe this. You have to download the whole paper as a .pdf, which I only recommend if you have a high-speed connection. I could not find the story on Google News or the NY Newsday Web site -- so drop them a line at http://cf.newsday.com/newsdayemail/email.cfm and let them know that they should put it in HTML so more people can read it!

1. Big difference between being misled and out right lying but if you are a
Bush supporter it doesn't matter since they have been lying since they decided to run for office and don't know anything different.

2. I keep wondering why those guys and gals at fox are not held
to the same standards as Rather. I guess because it is cable. They do not have to really tell the truth or at least back up info with facts. It is a shame.

3. Because Democrats are by nature not geared
with the killer instinct that repugs
are. Repugs use every weakness on the
left as an advantage by exploiting it
all the way. Remember that scene of
AWOL playfully looking around his office
for the WMD's as a way of joking? Why on
earth is that tape not being used in ads
to show what an ass AWOL is. Put it on
a split screen with pictures of the dead
soldiers who died looking for the WMD's.
Let everyone know what a cold hearted
SOB we have in the WH.
