CNN.com: Could election lightning strike twice in Florida?
http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/10/04/election.florida/index.html

WEST PALM BEACH, Florida (CNN) -- Despite intensive public scrutiny and extensive reforms, Democratic criticisms heard in 2000 are echoing again in Florida, setting up another possibly bitter election, and perhaps another post-election battle.

Democrats have decried ineffective voting machines, discrimination against African-American voters and boosting Ralph Nader as a way of hurting Democrats -- all stemming from, they say, Republicans' attempts to manipulate elections in their favor.

"I think a lot has changed since 2000, and it's changed for the worse," said Scott Maddox, chair of the Florida Democratic Party. "The bottom line: We can't let it be close, because if they can cheat, they will."

Republicans, who control Florida's governor and secretary of state offices (as they did in 2000), call such accusations groundless and foresee a fair, well-run election November 2.

2. "Could election lightning strike twice in Florida?"
They make it sound as if it's some unforseeable Act of God, rather than an intentional, pre-planned, organized effort.

4. So, if it's like lightning, then nothing can be done about it?
Just an Act of God - them's the breaks?

This is a CRIME IN PROGRESS by a REPEAT OFFENDER.

10. I am more worrying about California than I will do for Florida
I believe Arnold repeatedly himself that he will give California to Bush. That's what I don't want to have that happen on Nov 2..

Many people are keeping their eyes on Florida but completely forget about California, that's why I am more worrying about that than I do for Florida. Well, I hope God will hear my prays about having Kerry to win the election 2004.

15. If Arnie Lets Rove's People into the Tabulators It's All Over
except for a whole lot of shouting, because people will have a bit of difficulty believing
those results when Kerry is leading by double-digits, but hey, they got away with it in
Georgia. There can't be any recounts unless the election is close, and they won't make
that mistake again.

14. Military and Overseas Citizens
Military and Overseas Citizens Registering and Voting Absentee

Members of the United States Uniformed Services on active duty and the merchant marine, their spouses and dependents, and United States citizens residing outside of the United States may apply for voter registration or request an absentee ballot with a FPCA, which may be obtained from a Voting Assistance Officer or through the Internet at www.fvap.gov. The Federal Post Card Application request for an absentee ballot will be effective for all elections through the next two regularly scheduled general elections. If the FPCA is not available, phone or send a written request by mail, fax, or e-mail to the supervisor of elections and a voter registration application or absentee ballot will be sent to you.

If you are overseas, you may have your absentee ballot either faxed or e-mailed to you, in lieu of receiving it by regular mail. Once your absentee ballot is voted, you may either return it by fax or you may mail it to the supervisor of elections so that it is received no later than 7 p.m. on election day. Voted ballots returned by e-mail will not be accepted. Carefully follow the instructions sent to you with your absentee ballot to ensure that it is counted. You must be sure to not only sign, but DATE the absentee ballot envelope to ensure that your ballot is counted.

If an overseas voter’s request for an absentee ballot includes an e-mail address, the supervisor of elections will inform the voter of the names of candidates who will be on the ballots via electronic transmission. The supervisor of elections will e-mail to the voter the list of candidates for the primary and general election not later than 30 days before each election.

Didn't they allow ballots received after Election Day to be counted in 2000?

Didn't they allow ballots to be counted even if they weren't dated in 2000?
