Iraqi clerics express doubts over elections

Rebel control of several cities and a raging insurgency have raised doubts that the polls to elect a national assembly can be conducted throughout the troubled country.

You take this story and the current situation and you then consider Bremer's story - which by the way is THE featured story on the home page of CNN and MSNBC and even gets a mention on Fox == you come to the conclusion that we are in the mess we are in b/c of the WAY we went to war and failed to win the peace.

1. Ah, what do they know

They're just a bunch of furriners in funny headgear. The Prezdent said there'll be elections and by gum there'll be elections. It's the quality of the votes that count, not the number of them. Those troublemakers in Baghdad and Fallujah and Samarra and Mosul and Tikrit and all those other places that don't want democracy will get purged off the voting lists, just like Florida, and we'll have ourselves a nice quiet election without 'em.
