Guantanamo General Expects Release of Prisoners
LONDON (Reuters) - Most of the prisoners being held at the U.S. military base at Guantanamo Bay are expected to be released or extradited, the deputy commander of the unit that runs the base was quoted on Tuesday as saying.

Brig. Gen. Martin Lucenti told the Financial Times the United States did not have enough evidence to prosecute all of the prisoners, alleged to be al Qaeda and Taliban fighters.

2. Ohmigod! All those terrorists being unleashed!
Wait. No evidence that they're terrorists? Then why have we been holding them for over two years? Think any of them might be a little, I don't know, cranky, about being held incommunicado against their will for that long? Are they due any compensation for their wrongful detention? And who's going to pay for it? Okay, I know the answer to the last one.

4. I heard this last night
How many were tortured and will they sue Bush for war crimes? Seems the Bushies are not doing too well with their war on the terrorists. So far no indictments, nothing to show we are winning this war against the terrorist. All we have to show for two wars is an incredible amount of people in the Arab World who hate us and lots of people dead. Thanks Georgie Porgy--YOUR FIRED

7. Not before the election
They won't take the chance of letting one of them spill the beans about the atrocities that have been going on there. I'm afraid Gitmo will make Abu Ghraib look like a cake walk.

It must be lunch, spill the beans - cake walk, time to eat.

8. Wonder if anybody remembers...
...the constant and repeated assurances out of the current (mal)Administration that they were 100% positive that EVERY SINGLE one of the prisoners in Gitmo was the worst of the worst, and absolutely needed to be locked up forever.

Sad.

9. That is what they said
but lets let their actions speak for themselves. It does make one think, though.

10. Some that have been released..
were flown back to Afghanistan. They drop them off in Kabul and that's it. That is American justice.
