Powell to Visit Hurricane-Ravaged Grenada
Associated Press

SAO PAULO, Brazil - Secretary of State Colin Powell plans a brief stop in hurricane-ravaged Grenada on Wednesday.

Powell will travel there after a two-day visit to Brazil. He said he won't venture too far away from the airport because of transportation restrictions and infrastructure problems.

Ivan tore through Grenada on Sept. 7, killing at least 39 people, damaging or destroying about 90 percent of homes and leaving about half the 100,000 people homeless. Most homes lost their roofs, and many houses - including the prime minister's - were flattened.

3. WIth his bodyguard, should be as big an invasion as last time
I guess Grenada is once again a national security threat. I wonder if they will put as fierce a resistance as last time.

Someone go spit on Reagan's tomb for me, will you?

6. Maybe a warning to Cuba - stay away from Grenada
Cuba weathered the storm very well. I am sure Powell and his mates in the administration wouldn't want to risk having the Cubans help out their neighbors. To them, it would be the equivalent to an act of war. So, off to Grenada for a photo op. St. Ronnie will be smiling beneficently from the heavens. Crisis averted.
