US changes Korean redeployment plan

According to the Yonhap news agency in Seoul on Wednesday, the revised plan is to remove 12,500 US soldiers by 2008.

Quoting a defence source, the new plan means 5000 soldiers will be withdrawn before December this year, with most of those transferred immediately to Iraq.

Next year, 3000 more will leave, followed by 2000 in 2006 and 2500 in 2007 and 2008, the news agency said.
The US military also reversed its decision to pull out its Multiple Launch Rocket System batteries and Apache attack helicopters deployed near the border with North Korea.

1. Another line of defense weakened by Bush-Cheney

We ignore Al Qaeda and allow Afghanistan to rot, in favor of invading Iraq.

We ignore Iranian and North Korean nuke development.

And now we weaken defense of South Korea.

Just lovely.

Strength through attrition.

2. Disregarding the source,
this sends a real message of (lack of) resolution to the North Koreans. This is especially true considering NK's supposed nuclear weapons program.

Are these people unable to see the world without their own spin? Or have they simply forgotten that there is anything besides spin?

There is no possible good that can come when liars start believing their own lies.
