Howard Stern signs 5 year deal with Sirius
Edited on Wed Oct-06-04 08:46 AM by Bleachers7
Just announced!!!

He will start on Sirius after he finishes his current Viacom deal. He said "Done deal, that's it."

"King of All Media" Howard Stern and SIRIUS announced today an epic agreement whereby Stern will move to SIRIUS beginning January 1, 2006.

The world-renowned Stern is credited with revolutionizing the talk radio format. He is the No. 1 radio host among males 18-49 and ranks No. 1 in many of the 46 major markets where his show is broadcast, including New York and Los Angeles. Through SIRIUS' nationwide broadcast system, Stern will be heard in every market across the country.

Signing Howard Stern is, without a doubt, the most exciting and transformational event in the history of radio," said Joseph P. Clayton, CEO of SIRIUS. "He is an entertainment force of unprecedented recognition and popularity in the broadcast world, who is capable of changing the face of satellite radio and generating huge numbers of subscribers for SIRIUS."

"Howard is an incredible creative and comedic icon, and we are thrilled that he chose SIRIUS to broadcast what everyone believes will be the most exciting part of his career," said Scott Greenstein, SIRIUS President of Entertainment and Sports. "There is absolutely no one like Howard Stern, and I'm excited that, for the first time, his show will be heard across the entire country as it was always meant to be heard."

12. siri
If you watch the stock, it periodically goes down to 2.00 or so. did that recently and it probably will happen again. For example, pre market it was up to 4.35 or so.During the course of today, it has been as low as 3.67...now at 3.90.
I sold some xmsr right before it went up the other day, and kicked myself for doing that. part of the game.

5. Me too
I didn't buy a satellite system partly for this reason. I will at some point. I'm not sure if I'll wait till then.

7. He will be a Sirius exclusive
Edited on Wed Oct-06-04 08:39 AM by RatTerrier
Meaning he will leave terrestrial radio. He will also program three channels: One will be premium (like Opie and Anthony did at XM) and two will be regular. His show will be free to all subscribers - no extra fee.

I'm listening to Alex Bennett on Sirius Left and he's excited. And Alex LOATHES Stern, from their days of competing against each other in San Francisco. They seem to have buried the hatchet.

Hell, anything that brings Sirius more listeners is good for all there.

8. You're right about that.
Because a Sirius listener will try out the other stations. Sirius is about to go bigtime.

11. Yet another reason Not to buy XM Radio.
Full AAR content and now this.

Can you imagine the content of his first broadcast after a couple of years of having to "watch himself"? Not that I'm likely to listen to Stern, but (most) anyone who hates Bush can't be all bad.

14. Ford (vehicles) is also running a Sirius promotion
I believe it's a free two year subscription, plus the hardware if you buy certain models. XM has competition!

I actually feel sorry for people that have regular radio. Commercials and censorship sucks.

18. My Dad told me to buy the Sirius stock
My Dad told me to buy the Sirius stock with my money from my parttime job at the supermarket in my town. Now this has increased from $2,200 dollars to more than $8,300 in just years since I first bought this Sirius. Now I have more than $6000 dollars because I bet all on this company!!!! I can go to college almost now because of this. I am so happy because of this. I think I like the stocks now. Let's elect Kerry for more of this!!!!
