Polls declare different victors in VP debate
Edited on Wed Oct-06-04 11:14 PM by GHOSTDANCER
An ABC News snap poll showed that Vice President Dick Cheney came out on top for 43 percent of the registered voters asked.

Thirty-five percent of respondents said Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards won the debate, and 19 percent of those surveyed called it a tie

<http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/10/06/debate.main/index.html>

OK am I trippin because every poll I saw had Edwards ahead by like double and I took about 5? MSNBC , BBC , CNN , I think even FOX had Edwards in the lead and I'm talking theses polls were in the millions some of them.

I Mean for christ sake look at it right now
Who do you think won the vice presidential debate?

Dick Cheney 17% 4154 votes

John Edwards 76% 18400 votes

Evenly matched 7% 1606 votes
Total: 24160 votes

1. The abc poll was worthless on it's face. They polled more repubs then
democrats and tried to call it scientific. You poll specifically more members of one party then you do another then throw independents into the mix and you come up with a worthless poll that doesn't show you and thing except maybe you poll more repubs.

I immediately emailed all my friends to vote at www.wnct.com and cast a vote for our native senator....please help out all 52K of you....
BTW.....we have 585,000 new dems registered.......look out NC............I registered 7 of those and some were over 30 yrs old and had never registered before.

3. Here's the scoop.

Thirty-eight percent of the viewers were Republicans, 31 percent Democrats, the rest independents. (Special Report: America Votes 2004, Poll Tracker)

1) You have to assume that 98% of the scared Repukes said Cheney won.

2) If we imagine that all the reported Repukes said Cheney won and all the reported Dems said Edwards won, Cheney "beat" Edwards 5-4 in a poll with a 5% MOE.

5. To verify for yourself that Edwards won the other night
just ask a Puke who won the debate. When they tell you it was a draw, you'll have your answer.

7. The title is misleading horseshit
If you didn't read the article, as most people do not, you would think that of maybe a dozen major polls, half were for Cheney and half were for Edwards... that there is a complete split out there, that there was no clear winner. They can't bring themselves to openly admit what we all saw with our own goddamn eyes the other night.
