Poll: Obama holds 45-point lead over Keyes
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - A new poll conducted a month before Election Day shows Democrat Barack Obama with a 45 percentage point lead over Republican Alan Keyes in the U.S. Senate race.

The poll conducted for WEEK-TV and The (Bloomington) Pantagraph found that 69 percent of those polled supported Obama, a state senator from Chicago. Keyes, meanwhile, got the support of 24 percent.

The Research 2000 Illinois poll was a random telephone survey of 600 likely voters. It was conducted Sunday and Monday and has a margin of error of plus or minor 4 percentage points.

2. Haha
Are the Freepers saying "Keyes will win! Ignore these liberal polls, Keyes is a solid Christian man and God will spur him to a solid victory on Election Night!"

Cause THAT would be funny to read. :)

3. So here's my question
Why do people get the difference between Obama and Keyes, when they can't get the difference between Kerry and Bush and Bush is every bit as nuts as Keyes is.

16. The Media
Keyes doesn't have the SCLM whoring for him like they do for "Popular Wartime Presdient Bush".

11. Pretty Sad
I grew up in rural Illinois during the 1960's and 1970's, and WLS was the best station around. Listening to it was like listening to Radio Free Europe -- we knew there was a world out there somewhere full of wise-ass rock and rollers who gave the bird to authority at every opportunity. Larry Lucack, John Landecker, those were the guys. Pretty sad to have them be a conservative talk radio station.

It was a 50-point lead a scant few weeks ago. Is Keyes getting the (dare I say it)...Joementum?

8. This is just the beginning for a Keyes landslide
Keyes is incredibly canny and astute politically. Little by little he's endearing himself to the people of Illinois with his so-called "crazy antics" making Obama look boring and staid by comparison. It's like the line from "Chicago," 'Give them the old razzle-dazzle.' Keyes has the "big mo" now. Obama won't know what hit him in the next 4 weeks.

Man, it's late.

15. I can just see the press reports ... "Obama support falls to new low."
Or how about "Obama below the critical 50% threshold mark."
