US soldier killed near Fallujah
One US soldier was killed and two others wounded in an overnight attack on their convoy near the Sunni rebel bastion of Fallujah, west of Baghdad, the US military said in a statement.

An "unknown type of explosive device" hit the convoy at about 9:45 pm (1845 GMT) on Wednesday, it said in a statement.

The three soldiers were taken to a military hospital where one died just over an hour later of his wounds.

Of the surviving casualties, one was said to be in a serious condition and the other stable.

2. Are they still reporting......
the numbers of killed "before the end of the war" (what a crock that war), numbers of killed "after the staging, er, I mean toppling of the statue, or killed in non-combat situations, etc. etc. etc.? I think they probably have dropped those qualifiers, especially the one about "end of major combat operations." Now we can all see how stupid that whole propaganda stunt was.

These poor soldiers have all died in vain for nothing.

5. My brother in law is in Iraq ...
... in the National Guard. When I spoke to him before he shipped out in the spring he was pretty supportive of his Commander - In - Chief and the mission. Now his emails include statements like "this place is a hell of a long way from stability and governing itself."

7. Rest his soul.
He died because Bush couldn't read Saddham's mind. I can't believe how the media is helping Bush spin this tragedy.
