Panel: Smith misled public |
|
This was actually one time in Smith's slimely little political career he told the truth about the acid-spit Republicans. So they rebuke him for claiming that Repubs attempted to bribe him on the Medicare thing. "Representative Smith failed to exercise reasonable judgment and restraint, and is accountable for making public statements that risked impugning the reputation of the House."
Smith also was admonished for failing to fully cooperate with the investigation. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas, and U.S. Rep. Candice Miller, R-Macomb County were admonished, too.
DeLay offered to endorse Smith's son, Brad Smith, then a candidate for his father's seat in Congress, if Nick Smith changed his vote on a Medicare-reform bill. Miller, former Michigan secretary of state, vowed to work against Brad Smith after Nick Smith voted against the bill.
A witness, U.S. Rep. Howard McKeon, R-Calif., said Miller approached Smith on the floor of the House and said, "You are really going to do this Nick? "And he said yeah. (S)he got mad and said, 'Well, I'm going to do all I can to beat your son.' And then they kind of swore at each other a little bit. It was not pleasant," McKeon said in a sworn statement to the committee. http://www.mlive.com/news/jacitpat/index.ssf?/base/news-10/1097165303140090.xml

1. I'd hope he'd wear it as a badge of honor. |

Anything which distinguishes him as different from his Republican peers in that place might be a blessing! Rep. Candice Miller, the thug and her website. http://candice-miller.com/index.shtml
