Given that Micheal J.Fox appeared with Kerry on Tuesday to critisize bush over stem cells AND Kerry featured Micheal in a new ad (johnkerry.com), this wonderful news could not come at a better time!

In a nutshell:

They were able to cure mice for an inherited heart deformity that is usually 100 percent fatal.

This was curing a fetus..curing the disease by injecting the mother. They got the stem cells to emit molecules that signaled heart cells to make changes and repair thier defects.

Now they'll start testing these secretions on adults to see if they can treat heart disease.
Nearly 62 million Americans have some form of heart disease, and nearly a million die from such conditions each year.

Heart disease is by far the number one killer in the United States

Kerry will be able to hammer bush on this tomorrow.

What was Laura Bush talking about when she said we're giving people false hope? I had a feeling she had no idea what she was talking about.

2. I will bet ANYTHING Kerry brings it up, regardless of questions!

This is too big a stick to not hit Bush with, he'll get it in there.

But given his rally earlier, the M.J.Fox involvement, and now this news...I would be SHOCKED if a question about it didn't come up.

Prediction:

It will be a question for Bush.
He'll answer that he's the first president to fund it.
He'll mention this latest discovery...and say that it's proof they can move forward and still maintain a moral/ethical standard.

Then in 90 seconds Kerry will leave him quivering on the ground...his face a contorted mass of bulging and twitching muscle!

This issue is not a good one for Bush.
