50. He made an incredibly tasteless comment about Bigley
before he was killed.

"The 61-year-old comedian told a London audience during an on-stage live performance that he wished Mr Bigley’s captors, who have threatened to behead the British engineer as they have two Americans, would "get on with it". "

The TV station quoted "informed" sources in Iraq for the report. There was no official confirmation.

they will be out there kidnapping for the
next televised batch. I cannot imagine why
anyone would want to go to Iraq knowing that
they are targets for beheading. I have a friend
who's son (recently retired State Trooper) is going
to Iraq to work, she is so upset she is ill.
He says its because he believes in what AWOL
is doing, but I'll bet its more for the money.

43. Good question.
This has GOT to be a nail-biter for Blair. Not in the sense that he feels sorry for the man, but that it's affecting his re-election bid. Spilled blood is always a problem when you're trying to woo those voters.

I'm willing to bet $5.00 that this is why Blair was carted off to the hospital last week. I speculated on another thread that the pressure and stress of seeing a fellow British hostage pleading for his life, appealing to Tony Blair, was enough to give him a heart attack.

39. It's good to have you here.
Nice photoshop, too.

I'm pretty much without words. This man was in Iraq because he loved the place, according to his son. He was someone's best friend. A father. A husband. This administration better hope like hell that there is no god. This is unforgiveable.
And today I feel that we are all responsible. Each day that we don't storm the White House and yank these evil people out of office, is another day we let this continue in our name.

Still, it's good to have you on the forum. Thanks.

I don't understand why they said that they could not negotiate. Zarqawi will always take the maximum number of hostages. He will not be "encouraged" by negotiations. And he seems to relish killing his hostages.

Blair has "blood on his hands" - hostage's brother

08 Oct 2004 16:03:33 GMT

LONDON, Oct 8 (Reuters) - The brother of beheaded British hostage Kenneth Bigley said on Friday that Prime Minister Tony Blair had "blood on his hands."

In a statement to anti-Iraq war activists, issued after he had heard reports of his brother's death, Paul Bigley said: "Please, please stop the war and prevent other lives being lost. It is illegal, it has to stop. Mr Blair has blood on his hands."
