CA: Sample ballots use wrong date (for Spanish-speaking voters)

By Bethany Clough / The Fresno Bee

VISALIA — Sample ballots mailed to Tulare County voters last month printed the wrong date of the election on one page of the Spanish-language portion.

The sample ballot, which includes the candidates and measures that will appear on the actual ballot, is printed in English and Spanish.

The correct date is printed on the front and back covers of the sample ballot in both languages, but Page 2 in Spanish gives Nov. 4, instead of Nov. 2, as Election Day. The sample ballots were created by the county's election department and mailed out the week of Sept. 20.

... When the county realized the mistake, it sent out a news release in both languages. It also mailed a voter pamphlet that has the correct date to the voters who requested information be mailed to them in Spanish when they registered. "I think we've made every effort to get the information out," Wallis said.

most likely to be suckered by a scam telling them that the date is 2 days later.

Whomever made this "mistake" should be fired immediately. Dems should begin an investigation into twho did this, now. If Dems did that, it would show their concern for minorities and voting and it might scare Repugs who have more voter confusion plans into not following through with their plans.

2. My partner(Spanish surname) is wondering why
his absentee ballot has not arrived yet.Maybe just a glitch, but riverside county seems to have a lot of "mistakes". We missed our fist election here when we registered at DMV; it never went through.
