VISALIA — Sample ballots mailed to Tulare County voters last month printed the wrong date of the election on one page of the Spanish-language portion.
The sample ballot, which includes the candidates and measures that will appear on the actual ballot, is printed in English and Spanish.
The correct date is printed on the front and back covers of the sample ballot in both languages,
but Page 2 in Spanish gives Nov. 4, instead of Nov. 2, as Election Day. The sample ballots were created by the county's election department and mailed out the week of Sept. 20.
... When the county realized the mistake, it sent out a news release in both languages. It also mailed a voter pamphlet that has the correct date to the voters who requested information be mailed to them in Spanish when they registered. "I think we've made every effort to get the information out," Wallis said.
