Pundits see Bush win in second debate (WaTimes)
http://www.washtimes.com/national/20041009-010917-1890r.htm

By James G. Lakely
THE WASHINGTON TIMES

President Bush last night forcefully articulated his stance on the war on terror and portrayed Sen. John Kerry as incapable of consistent leadership, rebounding from his poor performance in the first debate to show the steadfastness analysts say swing voters will respond to positively.
"I think Bush killed him," said political consultant Dick Morris, who helped steer Democratic President Clinton to two terms. "Bush came out aggressive. He clearly won the exchanges on Iraq and he even won the domestic debate.

It should be known that the Washington Times is owned by The Moonies (Sun Myung Moon's cult). How trustworthy can they really be?

14. FauxNews pundits begs to differ with the Moonie
According to DailyKos

Mort Kondracke: "... I think Kerry won this debate as he won the first debate I don't think... I thought that Kerry was much more aggressive and the president was basically on the defense and didn't have new arguments didn't have...wasn't as facile as he should have been."

Bill Kristol: "I guess I think if you think the President was doing okay and didn't need a win in this debate, he did fine, but I think, if one thinks that Bush missed an awful lot of opportunities to go after Kerry in the first debate he had to make some of them up in this debate, I'm not sure he really succeeded in doing so."

Brit Hume: "Is it now fair to say that in each of these debates in terms of marshaling arguments, and remembering them and presenting them that this is something John Kerry has proved he is very good at. And that it doesn't play to the president's strong suit."

Mort Kondracke: "I thought was very effective. I thought that he was also on the attack a lot and frankly I thought that the President seemed to be on the defense a lot and trying to explain things and not explaining them all that well."

15. Let's hope he believes it and comes out even more violent and cocksure
next week. That'll play well on domestic and economic issues...

You know he thinks he won. Win. Crush. Kill.

Buncha damn peons, anyway...

17. The only person blinky beat in the second debate was
the blinky from the first debate. Aggressive? He was a bully to Charlie Gibson, not attractive to voters where I come from.

20. GinaMaria, I thought Bush was going to attack Charlie Gibson too
Bush lost control and there is no way anyone watching that debate can can TRUTHFULLY say Bush won it. Kerry is doing what he has to do, he's talking to his base and to the undecided voters. The TRUELY undecided voters will go with Kerry. Bush is just preaching to his base and as long as Bush shows up at the debates and doesn't pass out and is breathing his base is staying with him(they have drank to much of his kool-aide!)
