Allies Urged to Make Good on Iraq Pledges
October 10, 2004

TOKYO -- Hoping to keep much-needed cash flowing into war-ravaged Iraq, Japan will host a 50-nation Iraqi reconstruction donors' conference this week that may focus less on getting new pledges than on getting countries to honor their earlier promises.

The two-day conference, starting Wednesday, is a follow-up to a high-profile meeting in Madrid last year in which 37 countries and international lending institutions pledged $13.6 billion in grants and loans.

Only about $1 billion of the pledged amount has been deposited in World Bank and U.N. funds for Iraq.

So we've only received $1 Billion from our coalition partners to fight the war in Iraq? Gee, that's not what Bush said at the debate last Thursday?

This is more political fiction.

4. Considering how much money goes missing from that place, why
would they want to 'make good' and hand over millions knowing that it just might disappear like so much of ours has. That would be stupid.
