Was Bush Hearing Voices During First Debate? UK Independant
Had to post this just cause the article's title is just about right....

Was Bush hearing voices during first debate?
By Helen McCormack
11 October 2004

The much maligned debating skills of George Bush are facing fresh ridicule after claims that he was wired to receive instant help during his first television debate with John Kerry. Rumours spread around the internet that a bulge protruding from the back of President Bush's jacket, captured on camera during the debate in Miami, was a radio transmitter. It was said to be feeding him answers from an aide. The Bush campaign dismissed the claims. It also denied some web reports that Mr Bush was wearing a bullet-proof vest. "People have been spending too much time dealing with internet conspiracies. It's ridiculous," Bush's campaign manager, Scott Stanzel, told the AFP news agency.

Another campaign official said it was nothing more than a question of tailoring. Nicolle Devenish, the Bush campaign's communications director, told The New York Times: "It was most likely a rumpling of that portion of his suit jacket,
or a wrinkle in the fabric." President Bush's tailor later said that what was seen was a pucker along the jacket's back seam, the Seattle Times newspaper reported. Georges de Paris, who made the suit, said it was accentuated when the President crossed his arms and leaned forward. His claim was apparently supported by Mr Bush's improved performed in the second debate on Friday night, when his tailoring was perfectly smooth.

Rectangular puckers and wrinkles indeed -- not on this woman's planet.

I actually saw the so-called rectangular, bulging 'wrinkles' while the first debate was going on -- I drew other people's attention to it at least three times. I actually thought the cameraman was doing his best to show us something!

I confess I didn't see it in real time during the second debate -- but I did see Bushit adjust something in the front of his suit several times.

3. Absolutely *Love* How . . .

. . . the guy who made the suit is a Frenchman with the wonderful name of Georges de Paris. Everyman Bush, indeed - - just your average guy in a custom-made French-tailored suit. Did the White House insist that it be called a "Freedom suit"? :eyes:

Never heard of him and no respecting French tailor would give himself a name like that.

I dont agree with this at all, but we were actually one of the principal sources of the story (I felt the need to put up a 'rumor' story after getting a flood of email about it).

20. Probably a sheet of packing foam
left behing by mistake as aides prepared Robo-Res 2.4 (beta) for the debate...

How far does the induction coil transmit on one of the suspect wireless com systems?

Knowing that evil DU'rs would be watching for this I would have thought Karen and Rove would have had it taped to his bicep or under arm.

Since they couldn't/didn't change the location of the "bulge" I am wondering if whaterver it is can't be relocated. Although that thought doesn't tell us what it is, maybe it could help us figure out what it isn't.

Perhaps the induction coil needs to be closer to his ear to send a signal strong enough to penetrate George's hard head.

7. What does the Queen think of Junior when she reads this stuff in the UK?
Does she ask, "Why did we ever host this idiot last year-amidst thousands upon thousands of protestors?"?

Or, does she ask Tony Blair, "What were you thinking when you signed on to go to war with this neanderthal?"?

Does anyone know?

I'm just wondering.

I bet airport security would shut the whole place down for a week. A bulge like that would get you the shoe-bomber treatment.

15. Suit by Georges de Paris, accessory wire by Linda Tripp
Lousy job, Linda.

Should we think of the logistics involved in transmitting W answers in real time? That alone should put the matter to rest, but if it doesn't suffice, look at his performance in the debates. I don't think his reflexes are good enough to take information on the fly and spontaneously emit it without hesitation, at the same time making it sound original.

He may be wearing a bulletproof vest despite WH denials. Maybe it's technically called something else, but I doubt it functions as a receiver any more than * functions as a leader.

But if I'm wrong, I hope someone can hack it and turn it into a radio scanner or get some nasty CB conversation from nearby interstates into his mike.

17. Shocking discovery...
Sources close to the WH physician are whispering that the president has a fast growing mark or tumor on his spine. This is why he is avoiding his annual check-up. Apparently the inch-high ridge resembles three indistinct numerals. If you look closely at the top of his head you can sometimes see what look like two tiny little horns.
Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell have been summoned to Washington for consultation and prayer.

24. BBC News:
Bush's bulge stirs media rumours

A bulge in the back of President George W Bush's suit jacket during the first TV debate with John Kerry has triggered rumours that he was wired to get help.

Internet websites alleged the apparent bulge, during last week's debate in Miami, was a radio receiver feeding him answers from an offstage aide.

The Bush campaign dismissed the claims, saying it was just a wrinkle in the presidential jacket.

It also denied some web reports that Mr Bush was wearing a bullet-proof vest.

25. The Times has a good headline too:
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,11069-1304242,00.html

Has the new poll debate come down to the wire?
William Hunt, who owns a tailor’s shop in Savile Row where bespoke suits cost between £2,000 and £3,000, insisted that no suit or shirt would form such a strange ridge.

“Without a shadow of a doubt, I would say that he had some kind of wire running up his back underneath his clothing. Not even the seams on a cheap suit would look like that. It must have been some kind of transmitter.”
