Rumsfeld appeals for NATO help in Iraq

<snip>
NATO defense ministers holding informal talks in this ski resort in the Carpathian Mountains are expected to take up a NATO plan to train Iraqi security forces in a significant expansion of the alliance's involvement in Iraq (news - web sites).

US officials are concerned that NATO trainers will not be on the ground in Iraq until next year, too late to have an impact before crucial January elections.

But Rumsfeld, speaking to reporters after meeting with Romanian leaders in Bucharest, said there was much US allies could do before the elections.

"We need more equipment. We need it from NATO nations, we need it from non-NATO nations. We need it gifted," he said. "

3. Do we need "Old Europe's" help now?
If I were in NATO, I'd flip him off and then moon him.

9. Can you believe it?
Just when I thought I'd seen it all, along comes RumsFailed and tops it. "We need help". "You give it to us...notice "we need it GIFTED".

What a creep. What a loser. And yet the US is going to keep all the oil revenue, while the NATO countries contribute troops and risk their lives. For what?

I thought this was America, the land of rugged individualism. Piss on the world and go our own way. Hmmmmmmm, have a pResident who is seen as a fool by the rest of the world and has alienated much of the world and now we ask for help?

6. OH! Rummy is now taking Kerry's advice????
I've seen this several times already. They badger Kerry for not having a plan, and when he gets a little specific, ShrubCo tries to incorporate those ideas into their actions.
