Michael Moore brings out 10,000 friends, 200 critics (San Diego)
A crowd of 10,000 sang "America The Beautiful" Tuesday night along with filmmaker Michael Moore and folk-singing icon Joan Baez.

And so, Moore brought his Slacker Uprising Tour to town, attracting 10 times the audience he would have had if he had not been banned from Cal State San Marcos.

Since the Cal State San Marcos student government raised $45,000 on its own to sponsor his appearance off campus, Moore announced that he would donate all proceeds to a special "hellraiser" scholarship at the university. He said $5,000 would go to whichever student defied the administration most successfully.

10,000 supporters and only 200 anti-Moore protesters in one of the most Republican areas of California. If this is what's going on in Bush's strongest areas, imagine what's going on in the rest of the state and country! :)

Maybe there will be some San Diego DUers who can report on the event from the inside?

3. Heaven knows that the majority of graduates of CSU San Marcos
will be jobless, I can't imagine a whole lot of support for the stupid ass chimp down there.

6. Hellraiser Scholarship - I love it!
The spirits of Mark Twain, Thomas Nast, Ambrose Bierce, and Joseph Heller live on in our Michael.

America, how lucky for you at his low hour that the rabble-rousing gene hasn't been stamped out completely. :-)

7. I liked that, too.
And I am proud to say, with Michael's influence, I was gutsy enough to answer the question "What defines American culture?" in a class on Monday with: "We are expected to breed, obey, consume, and fear." I think I totally shocked some of my classmates but I know they went to dinner that night and told their friends.

8. Politics, n. Strife of interests masquerading as a contest of principles.
God Bless Ambrose Bierce,

Except for his "dullard" definition, that hits home, unfortunately.
