Alabama to Vote on Segregation Language (Ex-Justice Roy Moore Fighting It)
MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Fifty years after the U.S. Supreme Court decision outlawing school segregation, an Alabama law mandating racially separate classrooms is still on the books.

Gov. Bob Riley and others concerned about the state's image are urging voters to approve a constitutional amendment on Nov. 2 to strike the long-unenforceable language from the state constitution. They say such laws are a painful reminder of the South's divisive past, and make Alabama look bad when it comes to drawing in new businesses.

But the amendment ballot has opponents, including former Chief Justice Roy Moore, who is suspicious of possible hidden agenda: a huge tax increase.

"This is the most deceptive piece of legislation I have ever seen and it is simply a fraud on the people of Alabama," said Moore, best known for his refusal to remove his Ten Commandments monument from the state judicial building.

3. I'll tell you why nobody move there
because Alabama (at least in Baldwin COunty) is nothing more than a legal/prison mill.

They arrest and jail people, put them on probation to control them and then drag them back to jail every once in a while to keep the lawyers in biz and collect federal dollars for every prisoner they show movies to in the afternoon as well as fines or free labor.

I know. I spent 20 days in their wonderful hell.. I mean jail.. and talked to all the prisoners. The center of Baldwin county is a big ass courthouse surrounded by lawyers, bail bondsmen, and jails.

I'd love to take a few congressmen down there and show them what conditions they have, and how they treat non violent offenders.

Think laying on a floor in a room that's locked down for 23 and one half hours a day, not knowing what time it is, with no toilet paper, people not being given drugs or insulin and almost DYING in the cell with pictures drawn on the walls with crap and other body fluids.

One Representative compared their jails with SOUTH AFRICA's prisons.

They have no business other than to support the jail mill.

Holding children for ransom and jailing dads on trumped up charges is an art form down there.

If I never set foot in that goddam crazy third world country again it will be too soon.

My apologies to those trapped there, my advice is to FLEE :)

5. This is one of the many
reasons why the 2nd amendment should apply to individuals and why we should support it. We must protect ourselves and our neighbors from unjust government. By whatever means NECESSARY!
