A judge is considering whether to allow so-called repressed memory to be used as evidence against a former Catholic priest accused of child rape in Boston.

Paul Shanley is alleged to have raped and molested several boys from 1979 to 1989. He has denied the charges.

At a pre-trial hearing, an alleged victim said his memories of abuse only surfaced years after it took place.

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston has been accused of covering up a huge sex abuse scandal.

is generally a crock. Therapists who dig "repressed memories" out have ruined families and caused many innocent people to go to jail.

There's no way repressed memories should be allowed in a court room.
