PA county mails ballots with Nader's name
Harrisburg, PA, Oct. 13 (UPI) -- A Pennsylvania county began mailing presidential ballots Wednesday that include Ralph Nader's name, despite a pending court ruling that could remove him.

<snip>
The Lancaster County commission's two Republicans voted to send out the absentee ballots; the lone Democrat opposed the move.

2. According to my local paper...
(I live in Lancaster) the ballots weren't mailed out ahead of time, as the Repub.commissioner planned, when the Dem commissioner objected. Sneaky.

3. Damn.....they mailed them out!
Just read the afternoon paper. By a vote of 2 to 1, (2 Repubs to 1 Dem), the county commissioners ruled to mail the absentee ballots out with Nader's name on them.

<Citing a letter from the Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of State that requested a delay, Mary Stehman, chief clerk of the county Election Board, asked the commissioners to wait until Friday to send out 8,000 absentee ballots.

But Republican Commissioners Pete Shaub and Dick Shellenberger ignored the request and voted to send out the ballots.

Shaub’s decision to send out the absentee ballots was contrary to a request from state officials, who asked county elections officials to delay mailing absentee ballots until at least Oct. 19.>
