CNN/USA Today/Gallup post-debate poll: Kerry 52% Bush 39%
Wow!

Kerry 3 for 3 on the debates!

A majority of voters thought Kerry did a better job than Bush in the debate, according to a USA TODAY/CNN/Gallup poll taken immediately after the session. Fifty-two percent of voters surveyed said Kerry did the better job, compared to 39% who felt Bush did the better job and 8% who felt both performed equally.

YES!!!! :toast:

8. People can be honest and say that Kerry did better but still vote for Bush
I wouldn't read too much into these results.

Technically, you can be a piss-poor speaker and still be a brilliant leader or stategist. I'm not saying that applies to Bush but Republicans could honestly say that Kerry "won" but have no intention of voting for him.

6. yawn.
i don't need no stinking polls to tell me Kerry won the debate. Kerry got 4.5 hours on prime time television to state his case and explain his platform to the US of A. and bush got the same amount of time to explain that his wife speaks better English than he does... but we already knew that.

sir, speaking English well is a FREAKING JOB REQUIREMENT FOR THE PRESIDENT OF THE WORLD'S ONLY SUPER POWER. ahem. and you should know that.

10. I Noticed That Too
So, more people think that Kerry won this debate than the first one? Huh? Kerry mopped the floor with Bush in the Sept. 30th debate. I think he won this one fairly handily, but it was not the beating he administered in the first debate.

I acknowledge that Bush did his best work in the 2nd debate and thought that one was pretty much a toss up. But, he lost last night, and he got trashed on the 30th.

I wonder if this last margin for Kerry is indicative of undecideds finally making up their mind. The first one they gave a pass to Bush even though he was annihilated. But, after three, if watchers made up their minds, the current polls reflect the overall view of all three debates and their opinions of the candidates.

11. "Well you know that really isn't Bush's thing"
My own mother said that to me after the first debate.

What, thinking up coherent complete statements about his own record of that of his opponents?

12. His 'thing' is empty toughguy rhetoric and lying smear attacks
How can someone consider themselves a good leader when they can't even stand in front of the American people and and answer important questions in a dignified competent manner. He would have tanked last night totally if Bob Schieffer had not asked him those soft questions towards the end that didn't require any accountability for his policies or plan for the future.
