1. Good thing, the chip that Bush has been wearing looks terrible!
Hopefully the implant will look less noticeable.

2. Verichip and Bush
This topic should be front and center! During the debate last night Bush said:

"Thirdly, one of the reasons why there's still high costs in medicine is because this is -- they don't use information technology. It's like if you looked at the -- it's the equivalent of the -- of the buggy and horse days compared to other industries here in America. And so we've got to introduce high technology into health care."

I couldn't figure out what he was talking about. Now I do. This is really scary.

FDA approves computer chip for humans

The VeriChip, the size of a grain of rice, is inserted under the skin with a needle in a procedure that takes less than 20 minutes to complete.

<snip>
The company’s chief executive officer, Scott R. Silverman, is one of a half dozen executives who had chips implanted. Silverman said chips implanted for medical uses could also be used for security purposes, like tracking employee movement through nuclear power plants.

Such security uses are rare in the United States.

Meanwhile, the chip has been used for pure whimsy: Club hoppers in Barcelona, Spain, now use the microchip to enter a VIP area and, through links to a different database, speed payment much like a smartcard.
<snip>

Bold and italic fonts are mine for emphasis! Released/ran while we were all busy with the debates.

4. It might be OK for my dogs, but there's no way I'm using one.
