Schumer gets NY Post endorsement
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Republican Howard Mills's struggling Senate campaign suffered a setback Wednesday when the New York Post, which often endorses GOP candidates in statewide races, endorsed Democratic incumbent Charles Schumer.

The Post, which had endorsed Republican incumbent Alfonse D'Amato in 1998 when he was ousted by Schumer and which had backed Republican Rick Lazio in his losing Senate run against Hillary Rodham Clinton in 2000, praised Schumer's work against terrorism.

Of Mills, the Post said he "hardly constitutes the GOP's heavy artillery. He's pleasant enough, but his campaign has attracted not the slightest ripple of interest either among the electorate, or from his own party's money-men."

snip...

"The Post and I don't see eye-to-eye on every issue, but I'm very happy they appreciate my hard work and dedication to the job," Schumer said.

1. Good grief. Is Schumer running? Talk about a safe seat.
Damn sorry he's never felt the need to justify that bloody war vote for my vote.
