SD GOP worker who resigned takes position with Bush campaign/Larry Russell
http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/news/politics/9927899.htm?1c

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Larry Russell, who left the state Republican Party's get-out-the-vote operation when questions came up about absentee ballot applications, has joined the Bush-Cheney campaign in Ohio.

According to an internal Republican Party memo obtained by the Argus Leader, three other GOP workers who resigned also will be involved in the Ohio campaign.

The absentee ballot application process has been questioned by students on campuses in Brookings, Vermillion, Yankton and Spearfish.

They have said men obtained their applications but the documents carried the notarized signature of a woman. State law requires notaries who sign an absentee ballot application to witness the voter signing the application.

2. WTF? Did I read that right??
The people implicated in the vote fraud are working for Bush now??? Hmmm... first the Palm Beach rioters were given cush jobs in the Bush Admin. and THEN given FAT bonuses... could this be true? Now we have a new crop of thieving assholes, and.. Are these guys moving on to steal Ohio, too?

(didn't want to register to read the whole thing.. but is that the gist of it??)

6. I don't know how much damage they can do here.
Registration is over -- unless they're going to get him in one of the big BOE offices to shred the rest of the Dem registrations, of course.

But are you kidding? Republicans here in Ohio probably called him up. They're probably kicking themselves in the ass that an aggressive Kool-Aid drinkin' democracy subverter like that wasn't on the Ohio campaign all along.

7. They'll do whatever they're told
There's plenty of damage that can still be done; things that don't involve registration at all. These are the kind of mopes I'd want as pollwatchers, and didn't the GOP run campaign phone scams and cause traffic jams on election day? ...Much dirty work still to be done.

10. Oh, I see another Florida here.
I just meant they can't mess with the registrations anymore.

Make no mistake -- I have serious concerns about what's going to happen here. I know they won't bother with my polling place -- I'm in whitebread, heavily religious suburbia here, three blocks from a big Catholic high school. But I fear that in any city with a significant minority population, they'll be jerking every brown person who tries to enter a polling place up by the collar. I honestly worry about violence in inner city voting precicts in Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland and Toledo -- Cincinnati, especially. It could get ugly in smaller cities like Dayton, too. I fear for poll activists on the left, and for minority voters here. My greatest fear (and I hope it's just paranoia) is that Ohio, on election day, is going to make the Kent State Vietnam protests look like a parcheesi game at the old folks' home. I'd love to be wrong, but it does worry me, and there are enough reasons to worry about fraud -- I'm afraid it may get worse than that.

4. Isn't It Standard Practice for Criminals to Cross State Lines???
Larry Russell should be warming up a jail cell - he'll be joined there soon enough by George W.

11. Their corruption is as grotesquely out in the open as the Soviets
Unbelievable.

I am sure the guys who provided the security data on Wellstone to his assassins also got a promotion.
