U.S. Consumer Sentiment Fell to Lowest Since 2003
This was on Yahoo's front page at 4:00EST, gone now!

Oct. 15 (Bloomberg) -- A measure of U.S. consumer confidence fell this month to the lowest level since April 2003, as energy prices rose, job growth slowed, and negative presidential campaign ads filled the airways.

The University of Michigan's preliminary sentiment index dropped to 87.5 from 94.2 in September. Economists forecast a reading of 94, the median of 53 projections in a Bloomberg News survey. Estimates ranged from 92 to 96.

5. This is an important number...the last before the election
and consumer confidence is sinking. 100 is the median and it was over this and as high as 115 earlier in the year. This is EXTREMELY bad news for Bush and possibkly for other incumbents as well. I personally doubt that any President could get reelected with the CCI sinking like a stone.
We shall see.
