Bush Considering Tougher Syria Sanctions-Officials
Bush Considering Tougher Syria Sanctions-Officials

By Adam Entous

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Bush administration is considering tightening U.S. economic sanctions on Syria to put pressure on Damascus to pull its troops out of Lebanon and crack down on terrorism, administration officials said on Friday.

(snip)

The official declined to discuss the timing or scope of the additional sanctions, but congressional aides briefed by the administration said a leading option under consideration was freezing the assets of high-ranking government officials.

In May, President Bush imposed a series of sanctions on Syria, including a ban on U.S. exports other than food and medicine.

He accused Damascus of supporting terrorism, pursuing weapons of mass destruction and failing to stop anti-U.S. guerrillas from entering Iraq.

Rest at...

1. And if Syria calls our bluff, THEN WHAT?
What army does that militant asshole plan to throw against the Syrians, a people proudly skilled at repelling their enemies?

6. Then all they have to do is duck. We can't invade.
And if George was insane enough to try (we're taking bets on this) then there are tens of millions of them and only thousands of us (without a draft).

Gosh, wouldn't that be fun?

8. Very possible. There certainly will be a Next Bush War if he wins.
We know that the republican god has ordered Bush to use the US military to spread freedom and regime change. We also know that the neo-cons in the administration and various republicans in Congress have asked Bush to make several different countries the next target for invasion. Which country Bush will choose for his next invasion is unknown however. Whether Bush will have a postwar plan for the country he invades next also is unknown.

5. Bush is following Sharon's order on this one. The neocons
are bound and determined to provoke war between the U.S. and Syria and Iran. No greater reason to get Bush out now!

7. Excuse me? Sharon is amazing!
The leader of a tiny postage stamp of a nation without oil or any other valuable resource wags the dog United States, better known as a superpower.

How does he do it? Tell me. His genius? Cleverness? Personal power?

How does the Jew command the grandson of Hitler's banker?

I'm waiting with bated breath for your answer.

Or have you gone on to spread your slime somewhere else?
