APPLETON, Wis. - John Nusbaum, retired after 30 years in the cheese business, voted three times to put a man named Bush in the White House. This year, he's voting for John Kerry (news - web sites). "I just won't do it again," Nusbaum said. "What turned the tide for me was when I read the Medicare bill."

Nusbaum's upset that Republicans prohibited the government from negotiating bulk discounts when purchasing prescription drugs for the new Medicare prescription drug benefit. He's also a decorated Vietnam veteran and an organizer of Republicans for Kerry.

It's voters like Nusbaum, a 60-year-old resident of De Pere, Wis., that the Democratic candidate wants to unearth by touring traditional GOP counties in Wisconsin and Ohio, two states virtually deadlocked in the race for the presidency

Venturing into "enemy territory," where the defections had already started even before he even arrived.

3. "enemy territory..."
Kerry proved some 35 years ago that he does well in enemy territory! I think he'll have a lot of GOPers thinking twice about voting for Bush!

Look for a massive "Republicans for Kerry" movement (more so than the one now...)

4. Kerry demonstrates time and time again he is for ALL Americans
He doesn't make people sign loyalty oaths and doesn't have people kicked out of his rallies and arrested for wearing T-Shirts that say "preserve our civil liberties". Is America really so brainwashed?

5. The fact that Bush is still appealing to his base while Kerry
goes into GOP strongholds at this late stage in the campaign says loads.

The mojo has shifted to Kerry. (from my mouth to G*d's ears)

:kick:

6. Always was with Kerry - it's just becoming obvious now
Think of the rallies of hundreds of thousands - while W had to bus in a few hundred freepers - probably the same ones - over and over.

7. You wouldn't have known that it was Republican by the rally
We went to the Appleton Kerry rally where they estimated that there were 10,000 people, 10,000 people who waited in the cold rain to see Kerry. There weren't many pro Bush protestors. I think that sends a powerful message.
