"I thought he was hot," Watson recalled Thursday. "And I'm not shy. So I just went up to him and said, 'Hi.' "
The encounter launched what became a true romance. But their blossoming relationship came to an abrupt end this week when Watson received word that Wyatt had been killed in an explosion, just a month into his duty as a U.S. Marine Corps reservist in Iraq. He was 22.

"He proposed to me at eight o'clock in the morning, and at eight at night, 12 hours later, he got the call. "I was bawling my eyes. I didn't want him to go," his fiancee said Thursday. When asked for her own view on the war in Iraq, she declined to comment.
