Air Force 1 not so fun
PHOENIX - One of the most striking differences between the current presidential race and campaign 2000 is President Bush's behavior on the grueling cross-country stumps.

Four years ago, Bush was a candidate, not the President. He frequently lounged with the press on his campaign plane "Great Expectations," handed out nicknames, compared jogging times with reporters, mugged at them during solemn events, and detailed his delight in peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

One example of his impish - some called it "frat boy" behavior was when he left the press - section one day, only to return minutes later. When everyone stood up again, he grinned and said he just wanted to see them do that again.

But now he is the President, and a war President at that. He is busier with weightier matters. The questions are tougher, and appearance matters more.....

4. And yet, like a battered partner
The reporters keep covering for Stupidhead, convinced that if they just stay faithful, if they write or say the right things, then he'll come back to them, call them "Stretch" or "Booger Nose" or "Lazy Eye" again, and everything will be all right again. {Sigh!}

5. Uh hello
He is busier with weightier matters

Can someone please explain to me exactly which matters these are that Shrub is busy with?

They sure don't seem to have much to do with the future of this country.

8. Do dictators ever talk to the press, or ...
are they afraid that a non-mediawhore press might show them up for the clay feet that they have rather than the self-created "made in the spitting image of god" that they have of themselves?

And the "Great Expectations" were Ken Lay's hopes to be Secretary of Energy?

16. The whore press AND Smirk have equally contributed to the
awful circumstances we now face in this country.

I wish I could use my vote to vote the White House Press out of office on November 2nd as well as Bush.

17. Nope.. he's getting a bit frightened by the press..
They sense "blood in the water", and sharks that they are, they might actually start asking him real questions.,...ones that demand real answers :)
