1. How can the pollers account for Newly registered voters? |
|
There are reports of surges of newly registered Democrats in battleground states. How would the pollers account for the impact these voters are going to have? Gallup has been overweighting repukes and underweighting Dems. Their excuse(it seems to me) has been that more repukes voted in the past than Dems. I think Bush has united Dems(old Dems and newly minted Dems) in a way no one has done before. I think all these polls should be taken with a grain of salt. There are more poor people, more middle class economically challanged people that are natural Dem voters. They have a reason to vote this year, and god damnit, they will.

Among the 7 percent of voters still undecided, Bush had a 34 percent positive job rating, versus a 66 percent negative rating. Only 18 percent of undecided respondents said the president deserved re-election, while 39 percent said it was time for someone new. In the latter group, 99 percent said they were likely to vote.

Kerry should be 10 points ahead, either the polls are rigged or 50% of Americans are indeed solidly stupid and/or plain evil.

12. I'll tell ya in two words--Mary Cheney--despite Bush's numerous mistakes |
|
and outright lies, the Mary Cheney issue got the most play.
Fortunately, I think this is only a temporary blip in most polls (CNN's is too fucked up to even mention), and will settle down once the issue dies down, although the RNC (read: Fox News) is doing its best to keep homophobia, and this issue alive.

13. Here is Zogby's good news ... |
|
Pollster John Zogby: "The third debate is now registering among voters and Kerry had a good day, leading by two points today alone. He now is behind by only two overall. He managed today to regain a good lead among 18-29 year olds (especially 18-24 year olds, who he will need on November 2 to win). He also has consolidated his lead among Hispanics and is now only yielding 12 points to Bush among Democrats.
