Thousands of anti-war campaigners have taken to the streets of London calling for an end to the "illegal occupation" of Iraq by U.S-led coalition troops.
The protest, which police said attracted about 15,000 people, aimed to pile yet more pressure on Prime Minister Tony Blair, whose active support for U.S. President George W. Bush's war in Iraq has already damaged his popularity ratings

"I've been coming to every demonstration against Bush I can," said Londoner Liz Mawl, who also hopes the protest will send a message to American voters ahead of the Nov. 2 U.S. elections.

The media loves to paint with primary colors. And they are selective at that. They only give us red with a touch of blue. God forbid that we should ever know that the world is watching and reeling from the actions and inactions of our government.

This is just a shout out to the UK people that make me feel less like a stranger in a strange land (and that is the good ole beyond corrupt US of A under our King George*.)

6. Bush Seeks War Not Peace
That is evil. The Irai people were never of any harm to us but he's decimated their population and country. Look at the stories at www.icasualties.org. The GOP turn a blind eye.

8. Gee, I wonder what ever gave them that idea.
Ex-Guantánamo Bay workers claim prisoner abuse was widespread

Julian Borger in Washington
Monday October 18, 2004
The Guardian

The abusive treatment of inmates at Guantánamo Bay was far more widespread than the Pentagon has admitted, according to a new report published yesterday.

Many detainees at the US prison camp were "regularly subjected to harsh and coercive treatment" over a long period of time, far beyond the isolated cases that have been acknowledged to date, according to the report, which appeared in the New York Times.

It quoted sources who once worked at the naval base and who were angry at the treatment dealt out to the prisoners, suspected terrorists from around the world who have been held without charge, most for more than two years.

The harsh treatment was intended to persuade inmates to talk, and was matched by incentives to co-operate.
